The Group work

Overall Reflection on our groupwork
During the first
industries insight's tutorial, our class formed groups of 6 members to perform
the first design project. The project requires designing a new scene for Angry
Birds game including a new bird character attacking a new pig character. At first,
I was really excited for the design especially because it is one of my
favourite games. So, I prepared some sketches before the tutorial. After the
class we have met 4 times, some members came but all what they did was being
negative and doubting others work rather than constructive criticism. The rest
either did not come or came and kept quiet the whole meeting. It was a stressful task,
at the end of it our team was completely divided and no one had an idea how the
presentation will look like. At the day of the presentation, we discussed the
slides just 5 minutes before we presented. Our presentation content was
complete but we lack impressive, interesting illustration. This negative
experience has encouraged me to read and learn about effective group dynamics.
In the next project I am going to choose my team members carefully and give
more time to plan the presentation and make it as fun and interesting as
possible.
